Osteora is an oleaginous calcium hydroxide suspension, which has an intensive osteoinductive effect which speeds up the bone healing process by maintaining a constant mild alkaline environment (Approximate PH of 10.5) in the defect.

The product can be utilized in various areas including sockets, periodontal intra-osseous defects and large apical bone defects, to name a few. Osteora can be used as is or mixed with other bone substitute materials (E.g. BioBase, a Zimmer product available from ISS – info included) to obtain adequate consistency for larger defects and flap support.

Osteora has had a number of studies published including a 12 month comparison between Emdogain which showed significant improvement of the probing pocket depth (PPD) and clinical attachment level (CAL) with no significant difference between the two groups in favour of Osteora.
